Perfidious use
The use of the emblem during an armed conflict to lure in the adversary in order to then capture, wound or kill them. Wounding or killing an adversary by resorting to perfidy constitutes a war crime.
Improper use
The use of the emblem in a manner inconsistent with the provisions of international humanitarian law and/or for purposes inconsistent with the Fundamental Principles of the Movement and/or by entities or persons not entitled to do so (e.g. commercial enterprises, pharmacists, private doctors, NGOs and ordinary individuals).
Imitation
The use of a sign, which, owing to its shape and/or colour, may be confused with the emblem.
